If you want to bring events around stronger, then use a card that a five or above. Sometimes you may just want to test a relationship, and if you are not sure if this person is the love of your life, Then pick a card that is lower, like a two or three of hearts. Do not use a ten or ace of hearts, for then you are binding yourself to a situation that will be harder to end. This is especially true for people who are just starting out.
